The Pool

Moor Park provides a relaxing and supportive environment for swimmers, families, and carers

Moor Park Health & Leisure Centre

Our main club swimming sessions are on Sundays at Moor Park Health & Leisure Centre.  Situated in the heart of Bispham on Bristol Ave, Blackpool, FY2 0JG, the Centre combines various services under one roof. In addition to all the pool facilities, Moor Park is also home to a Library, Cafe, and numerous health services. Moor Park Swimming Pool is an inclusive space that prioritises accessibility and comfort, making it an excellent choice for individuals, families, and groups of all abilities. Whether you’re swimming, spectating, or supporting, everyone is welcome and can enjoy the experience.

The Pool

The Pool facility, refurbished to a high standard, stands out with its unique features. It offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors. The facility features a spacious 25-metre main pool, perfect for experienced swimmers, alongside a smaller learner pool, ideal for beginners or those building confidence in the water. Both pools are visible from a dedicated spectators’ area, where parents, carers, and supporters can relax while watching the action, with snacks and drinks available from vending machines.

One of the pool’s standout features is its accessibility. A large car park at the leisure centre's rear ensures convenient access for all visitors. Upon entering the main area through either the front or rear entrances, you'll find a welcoming reception desk. From here, a gentle ramp leads to the pool and changing area, making it easy for everyone to navigate the facility.

The changing areas cater to a range of needs. The space is designed to accommodate individuals, families, and groups with a selection of double and single cubicles. Additionally, two changing rooms are fully equipped with changing beds and hoists, explicitly reserved for wheelchair users, ensuring privacy and comfort.

The thoughtful design continues on Poolside, with two hoists available to help disabled swimmers access the water. One of these is a "dipper" hoist, designed with slings, making the transition into the pool smooth and safe for everyone.

Getting to the Centre

The centre can easily be reached on foot or by car and has extensive parking available. Buses 3, 3A, and 7A all have routes that pass by. The full address is Moor Park Health & Leisure Centre, Bristol Ave, Blackpool, FY2 0JG.

Parking and entering through reception

When you enter the main reception area from either the front or rear car parks, you will see the reception desk. A small ramp leads you to the swimming pool and changing area. Before you enter the changing area, please make sure to report to the Blackpool Polar Bears Registration Desk just before the double doors.

A parking camera monitoring system is in place with a default time limit of 2 hours in the general car park. You can extend your parking by 1 hour by entering your car registration number at one of the two terminals in the building (located at our reception desk and the NHS reception). Disabled parking bays have a 3-hour limit, and you must register your vehicle at one of the terminals on every visit. Please remember to register each time you come.

  • No running, eating, or drinking within the pool area.
  • No diving, bombing, or acrobatics.
  • No shouting, pushing, or fighting.

Fire Alarms

In the event of a fire alarm, all members and their parents/carers must follow the instructions of Blackpool Council Leisure Services staff and move to the designated assembly point.

  • Individuals in the spectator area and changing village should evacuate via the nearest fire exit and gather at the Evacuation Point at the front of the Moor Park facility.
  • Swimmers in the pool must exit the water but remain in the pool area until further instructions are given. Blackpool Council Leisure Services staff will decide if a full evacuation of the pool area is necessary.

Please be aware that fire alarms may be tested randomly. However, always treat any alarm as genuine.
